1: Non alcoholic beer that contains .5% or less alcohol and is aimed at those 18 and up or those wanting to watch their calories and/or alcoholic intake. Usually has the alchohol boiled out and is usually less flavorful and calorie rich than their alcoholic equivalents. Essentially Beer that you can't get intoxicated from. Usually labeled NA (Non Alcoholic) O'Doul's and Sharps could be considered a "near beer".

  * e.g.,  ... Person 1: Hey pass me a beer Person 2: Here is an O'Doul's. Person 1: Don't give me that near beer crap. Got a real beer?

1: Noun: London police slang for a crummy dive in which unwitting male tourists are promised a good time with a hot babe. They must order a drink from these unlicenced premises but get charged hundreds of pounds for a soft drink. Victims are often frog-marched to cash machines by heavies. Needless to say, the babe doesn't provide any action, just sits there.

1: n. Any light beer. Especially American lagers. Light beers that can be drank in relatively large quantity without much intoxication.

  * e.g.,  ... I'm driving later, can you pass me one of those near beers out of the cooler? (e.g., a Coors Light) I drank like ten near beers this afternoon, but I'm still gonna go out tonight. Dude if your wife gives you crap about bringing alcohol into the house just make it clear your drinkin' near beers. Nobody cares about a couple peebers.
